Storeplay Radio Devices & Setup FAQs
The common questions around devices, security and audio.
What devices can I use? Storeplay Radio runs on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.
iOS On the Apple App Store. Requires iOS 15.0 or higher. We’re an authorised Apple reseller, so contact us if you need iOS hardware.
Android On the Google Play Store. Requires Android 10.0 (Lollipop) or higher, with 4GB of RAM or higher.
10.0 is the floor, but we strongly recommend a good-quality device dedicated to running Storeplay Radio. Manufacturers often customise Android in ways that eat memory and hurt performance. For the best results, use either:
- A device in the Android One certification program - these meet Google’s standards and get regular system and security updates, or
- Any Google-made device (Pixel or Nexus range).
Windows Requires Windows 10 or higher.
Devices must have at least 6GB of available storage to download music.
We have a firewall. What servers and ports need access? The Storeplayer needs access to a set of Storeplay, CloudFront and message-broker hosts. The full list is in the Storeplay Radio Network Setup Guide - hand that to your IT team or internet provider. The usual culprit is port 61617 being closed, which stops the headless Storeplayer connecting.
What audio quality do you use? 128kbps AAC.
