This glossary explains common Storeplay terms you may see in the help centre, app, dashboard or support instructions.
Storeplay
Storeplay is the platform used to manage in-store experiences such as music, display, scent, media and queueing.
RetailOS
RetailOS is Storeplay’s platform for running the in-store experience across multiple services and store locations.
Storeplay Radio
Storeplay Radio is Storeplay’s music service for commercial spaces. It provides curated, licensed music for stores and other customer-facing locations.
Storeplay Display
Storeplay Display is Storeplay’s digital signage product. It helps businesses manage and schedule content on screens in store.
Storeplay Scent
Storeplay Scent is Storeplay’s scent marketing product. It helps businesses manage fragrance diffusers and scent schedules in store.
Storeplay IQ
Storeplay IQ supports customer flow tools such as virtual queueing, click & collect and bookings.
Storeplay Media
Storeplay Media helps businesses manage in-store media campaigns across available Storeplay channels.
Storeplayer
A Storeplayer is Storeplay’s dedicated hardware device. It may be used for Radio, Display or other services depending on your store setup.
Store
A store is a physical location in your business network where Storeplay services may be installed or managed.
Device
A device is hardware connected to Storeplay. This may include a Storeplayer, screen, tablet, phone, diffuser or other supported hardware.
Channel
In Storeplay Radio, a channel is a curated music selection or program that can be played in store.
Playlist
A playlist is a set of tracks curated for a particular brand, mood, time of day or store experience.
Schedule
A schedule controls when content or settings apply. For example, a Radio schedule may control which music plays at certain times, while a Display schedule may control when screen content appears.
Kiosk mode
Kiosk mode is a controlled playback mode where store users may not be able to skip songs or change playlists. This can happen when music is managed by a schedule or head office setting.
Licence
A licence allows Storeplay Radio to run on a device or store setup. If all licences are in use, the app may show a licence-related message.
OneMusic
OneMusic manages public performance music licensing in Australia and New Zealand. Some businesses may need OneMusic licensing in addition to their Storeplay Radio subscription, depending on the music used and the location.
Public performance fees
Public performance fees are music licensing fees required when copyright-protected music is played in a business or public space.
Sonos
Sonos is a speaker system that may be used with some Storeplay Radio setups. Supported Sonos options can vary depending on your RetailOS setup and hardware.
Firewall
A firewall is a network security system that controls which internet traffic is allowed. If a store firewall blocks Storeplay, a device may not connect or play correctly.
Port
A port is a network communication channel. Some Storeplay devices require specific ports to be open so they can connect correctly.
QR code
A QR code is a scannable code used during some setup flows, such as pairing a display or logging in to a device.
Support ticket
A support ticket is a request sent to Storeplay support for help with a product, device, account or technical issue.
